5 Drugs A Day for Asthma!!
Caio and his mother, Shirley, were victims in an auto accident in September 2005. One month later, Caio continued to suffer from daily headaches, and his mom decided to bring him to Discover Chiropractic. Caio recovered quickly from his headaches; however, during the course of his recommended care plan, Shirley learned about the benefits of chiropractic and children...specifically children with asthma.
Caio had been under a pediatrician's care for chronic asthma and recurrent ear infections since birth. He consumed medication after medication. He also had ear surgery where artificial tubes were placed in the ear canal to help with his drainage and infections. One of the tubes had already fallen out of his ear.
Since following Dr. Hess' recommendations and rarely missing a single appointment, Caio has been able to reduce and even eliminate most of his medications. He used to take on a daily basis Albuterol, Flovent, Flonase, Singulair, and Claritin.

Tani came to Discover Chiropractic in 2009 with chronic allergies and asthma. She had also been diagnosed with high blood pressure which her medical doctor said "it's probably hereditary." Her allergy doctor told her that he had no problem with her being on her six allergy and asthma drugs for the rest of her life. At the age of 34, married with two young children, Tani was taking Allegra-D or Zyrtec, Singulair, Nasonex, Astelin, Pulmicort, Proventil, and Benicar. "Debilitating Migraines" - Cindy V.
Cindy started chiropractic corrective care at Discover Chiropractic in 2007. Cindy suffered with severe migraines for years. She missed many days of work because her migraines were totally debilitating. She took Excedrin Migraine frequently, but the medication never corrected the problem. After coming to Discover Chiropractic and listening to Dr. Hess and the team at Discover Chiropractic, Cindy understood that "healing takes time and repetition." "In Bed for Three Months!" with Hypothyroidism, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia" - Cynthia S.
My spiritual sister Latonya referred me to Discover Chiropractic. I was clinically diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and later Fibromyalgia. My problems started about 7 or 8 years ago. I was suffering from hair loss, weight gain, tiredness, and pain most of the time. My feet were swelling and my back and shoulder blades were very sensitive to touch. I had problems sleeping and sitting. I had neck pain most of the time to the point of me being bed ridden for about three months. I was prescribed so many medications that I could not remember all of their names. (I did not take most of them because I have never liked taking chemicals.)
I really came to this office out of desperation, but after my first adjustment, I was able to lay my head down without pain. After a few more adjustments the pain in my body was subsiding. I became hooked! After about three months of specific chiropractic care, I went to my physician for a check up. She could not believe my numbers from my blood work. Almost all of my numbers were normal. When I told her I was not taking medication and that I was under chiropractic care, she told me that I needed to continue taking my medication. I have been drug free since December 2008.
I stopped coming in for adjustments for about a month (for personal reasons). My body responded unhappily. Now I am back on track and I am a happy, faithful patient. My father, mother, second oldest brother, and one of my nephews have now joined the road of better health through chiropractic care. I tell anyone that will listen that this is the way to go. My energy levels are rising and I am functioning so much better.

"Breathing...Normally"
Jeremiah came to see us due to a referral by his mother and grandmother. Jeremiah started receiving adjustments at about one year old and had bronchitis and mild asthma.
He was on breathing treatments five to six times a day. He was taking Pulmicort and Albuterol for temporary relief of the problem.
Since receiving specific scientific chiropractic adjustments, Jeremiah's body is feeling and functioning much better and he no longer takes Albuterol or Pulmicort and no longer needs breathing treaments. COLIC & GAS - Six Weeks Old - Ava N.
At six weeks old, Ava's parents brought her to Discover Chiropractic for infant reflux and colic. She was constantly crying and irritable due to gas and little sleep. Her parents described her situation as severe because she hardly slept and cried all the time. As first time parents, Alison and Brad were also suffering with lack of sleep and much concern for their baby girl. Ava's pediatrician prescribed Prevacid and prescription gas medications. Neither Brad nor Alison had been to a principled chiropractor before; however, they had a niece who had received excellent results with her infant reflux through principled chiropractic care.

Chiropractic Care After Neck Surgery
Diane came to Discover Chiropractic in May 2003 with severe headaches. She already had two discs replaced in her neck ten years earlier and was trying everything from pain pills to patches and creams as well as receiving epidural shots every six months for the pain. And with no results she decided to try principled chiropractic care.
Diane's results were great! Her pain and headaches ceased, so she decided that she no longer needed chiropractic care and discontinued care. However, the following year, her headaches and pain returned. Her occupation as a fork lift operator involves a great deal of turning and twisting of the head and neck which further exacerbated her condition.
Diane admits that she should have never stopped coming and that chiropractic far surpasses all the other methods that she had tried because with chiropractic there are no side effects. She has recommended chiropractic to her family, friends, and co-workers.
Due to her past surgical history and occupation, Diane says, "I understand that I will need to see Dr. Hess for the rest of my life in order to maintain my spine and live in optimal health."
Ear Infections
Darcy came to Discover Chiropractic and started care in February 2001. Darcy suffered ear infections from December through January.
In this short period of time she had three back to back ear infections and her pediatrician had given her two different antibiotics.
Since Darcy has been coming to see us, she has not had any more ear infections. She does not take any medications and has not been to the pediatrician since January 2001.

"From Chiropractic SKEPTIC to Chiropractic Advocate" - Charity H.
When Charity first came to Discover Chiropractic she was suffering from sinus infections for about one and a half years. They were so severe that she would cough up mucus and have debilitating headaches everyday. At night she wouldn't be able to lay flat on her back, so she would have to put four pillows under her head to proper her up in order to sleep. She continually took antibiotics, nasal sprays, and even steroid shots but nothing helped her.
Although she had family members that had been under chiropractic care for back pain and severe allergies who testified about the benefits of chiropractic care, she was still very doubtful about starting care. Within three days of beginning principled chiropractic care, the innate intelligence of her body began to expel her excessive mucus out of her body, and her headaches began to go away. Since being a practice member here at Discover Chiropractic, Charity has eliminated all medications since 2004 including the "common monthly female medication - Ibuprofen" for menstrual cramps.
Ethan, Charity's first son was born in 2006 in a local hospital. Following a traumatic hospital birth which involved the use of forceps and an episiotomy, Ethan was not able to have bowel movements on his own. His pediatrician gave him Glycerin tablets and told his mother to have him drink prune juice. Charity decided to bring him to Dr. Hess. With just one adjustment, Ethan came home and had a bowel movement on his own.
In October 2009, Charity became a mom for a second time with her daughter, Lauren. After her traumatic hospital experience with her son, Charity decided to have her second child at home. Near the end of her pregnancy, her midwife discovered that the baby was in a Breach position. The medical approach to this situation would be an invasive and uncomfortable manual procedure to try to turn the baby and then ultimately a Cesarean; however, Charity heard that specific chiropractic care could also facilitate the baby to turn into the normal vertex position, and soon thereafter Charity delivered Lauren in two hours at home. That same morning Charity called Dr. Hess who came to her house after church that day to adjust both her and her baby Lauren.
Severe Constipation & Urinary Tract Infections - Shirah W.
Shirah came to Discover Chiropractic in May 2007 after her grandmother had referred her mother and her family. At the time she was suffering with severe constipation and urinary tract infections. She was having bowel movements once every 2 weeks and it was so painful that at times she couldn't walk. Shirah's Urologist and Gastrologist couldn't find anything wrong with her! She was taking Miralax (which made her bowel movements uncontrollable).
After her third specific, scientific, chiropractic adjustment, she went home and had three bowel movements in two days. Thank God, she is now back to normal! Her mother Kristy was suffering with depression, her father with spinal pain, and her brother with speech and hearing problems. Now mom is no longer on medication and the whole family is healthier thru chiropractic care. Multiple Sclerosis...There is a better way! - Marie S.
In 2008 Marie came to Discover Chiropractic as a last resort. She had been given a diagnosis for a debilitating disease, Multiple Sclerosis. Her Neurologist said that there was NO Cure and that she would just have to deal with the symptoms; these symptoms included numbness from head to toe and severe headaches which induced vomiting. She was on daily medications such as Imitrex and Avonex. Her symptoms for Multiple Sclerosis got so bad that her neurologist was recommending weekly shots. ...And that is when Marie found Dr. Hess. As she began to get principled chiropractic care and get her severe spinal problems corrected and and through Time and Repetition, she no longer has headaches and her numbness is gone! In just a short time, Marie's co-workers noticed a drastic change in her attitude. Marie has a nine year old daughter named Karrie who suffered with nosebleeds.

6 years old and on 6+ Medications!! - Anthony U.
Anthony suffered with severe asthma and allergies. These diagnoses caused hives, shortness of breath, and eczema. His condition was considered to be life-threatening. His allergist recommended limited physical activity and anywhere from 6-10 medications at one time. At his next appointment with his allergist, Anthony was supposed to begin weekly allergy shots. Since starting principled chiropractic care, he has been able to eliminate Proventil, Zyrtec, Singulair, Nasonex, Albuteral, and Pulmicort- all of which were taken on a daily basis. He has also been able to reduce Mometasone Cream and Benadryl cream.

"Blood Pressure Blues!!" - 6 Blood Pressure Pills - Marianne M.
Hi! I've been under Chiropractic care, on and off for almost 30 years. Unfortunately, it's the "on and off" part that caused my problem. On January 22,2009, I was taken by an ambulance to the emergency room with a sky-high blood pressure. The ER doctor put me on meds and sent me home. Over the following 8 months, after trying at least 9 different prescriptions, I was still on 6 of them, with a myriad of side effects that were affecting my productivity, balance, energy levels, and more. So Finally, I came to my senses and came to see Dr. Jeremy Hess. After a few adjustments and a new regiment of heart healthy herbs, my blood pressure is virtually normal and I'm on my way off the last Rx! There is no more dizziness, I have no aches in my legs, the hacking cough is leaving, my energy is back and I'm sleeping all night again! Chronic Sinusitis - Bret M.
I came to Discover Chiropractic and started care in April 2001. I have suffered with low back pain for many years, since early in my military career when I injured it while parachuting. I have also had chronic sinusitis for over 10 years. I have had two surgeries on my nasal passages. When I came to Discover Chiropractic, I learned about the spinal degeneration (decay) in my neck and spine and how it lost its proper curve. No other doctor told me I had these problems. With consistent specific chiropractic adjustments I no longer have any pain in my lower back and I have recently scored higher on physical fitness test and beat my two mile run time from last year by 45 seconds. I also have been able to stop taking Zyrtec (allergy medicine) and Flonase (sinus medicine).

Nicole came to Discover Chiropractic in October 2005 following a motor vehicle accident; however, she has suffered with sleepwalking her entire life. Delaina started principled chiropractic care for spinal pain. Not only did she receive positive results regarding her pain, but she also received other benefits as well. After the birth of her second child, who currently is eleven years old, her menstrual cycles never started again. The medical community prescribed her various birth control pills over the course of 9 years, which caused a lot of weight gain. Within a short time of starting corrective chiropractic care with Drs. 82 years young and Pain Free - Bertha S.
Bertha was referred to Discover Chiropractic during a patient dinner. She suffered with spinal pain, neck pain, osteoporosis, and leg cramps at night. She had been suffering for months rating her pain at 7 out of 10 for severity. Her orthopedist recommended pain medications and shots in her back.
Bertha was nervous about starting chiropractic at first because she didn't know what to expect. She said she realized that she couldn't erase time, but she was willing to give chiropractic a try. Migraines, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol & Ritalin!
"HELLO HEALTH - GOODBYE DRUGS"
Cherilyn "Mom" arrived at Discover Chiropractic with back pain, migraines, and headaches. Her health problems were severe. She was hospitalized several times and her pain also affected her ability to care for her children. She routinely saw her neurologist who recommended more and more prescription medication on a daily basis. Cherilyn knew that all these drugs were affecting her liver and kidneys, but she continued to take them because she had not been educated yet on the benefits of principled chiropractic care. After 6 months of corrective chiropractic care, she no longer has back pain and her migraines are almost non-existant. She no longer takes Dilantin, Depakote, High Blood Pressure medication, or Cholesterol medication.
Scott was diagnosed with ADHD and asthma. The medical doctor prescribed him Ritalin. Since starting corrective chiropractic care he has reduced his asthma medication and no longer takes Ritalin.
Savannah had a severe case of asthma. Her asthma would hospitalize her several times per year. She regularly was seen by a pulmonologist. With principled chiropractic care, Savannah no longer takes Singlair or Advair.
Although Barry "Dad" and Mikaela "baby sister" had no "medical diagnosis" like the rest of the family, they understand the importance of chiropractic care for overall function and general health and wellness.

Juvenile Rheumatiod Arthritis - Austin U.
Austin came to Discover Chiropractic diagnosed with Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Auditory Processing Delay, and Juvenile Rheumatiod Arthritis. These diagnoses' required speech, feeding, and occupational therapy three times per week along with special education placement. He was being treated at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. His mom says his treatment was on how to "deal" with his disorders not on how to "heal" his disorders.
After Austin's first few specific, scientific, chiropractic adjustments, his attention span improved and he was able to sleep through the night. He also said to his mother, "That the loud noise in my head is gone. I can hear at school now."
Austin's mom says, "Austin's report card showed amazing improvement, and he is now doing well in a regular education setting. Austin can also tell me when he needs an adjustment because the "noise" in his head starts to return."

No more Sinus, Allergies or Migraines - Brown Family
Stacey, better known as "Mom", began her chiropractic journey with severe migraine headaches. Her migraines caused her to miss work and lose precious time and memories with her husband and children. They occured 2-3 times per week and sometimes lasted for several days at a time. Her Neurologist prescribed Topamax. Stacey began principled chiropractic care in a desperate search for relief. Drs. Hess and their Team explained how the nerves in the cervical spine (upper neck area) were directly related to her migraines. Since following Drs. No Need for Ritalin - Better Functioning Bodies...no more nose bleeds and better grades
Chrissy, Logan, and Ariel had been referred to Discover Chiropractic by their mother in February 2008. Cheryl, their mother, had received positive changes in her health through specific chiropractic care, so she wanted to make sure that her children's nervous systems were also functioning at optimum level from Above-Down-Inside-Out.
Logan had been referred to Drs. Hess to improve and maintain overall health. Since starting care, his mom has noticed that his concentration has improved and his desire to learn as well.
Chrissy had been referred to her medical doctor by numerous teachers over the years to be tested for Attention Deficit Disorder. She also had a history of migraine headaches and frequent severe nosebleeds. Chrissy's pediatrician diagnosed her problems as "something that she would grow out of..." After 4 1/2 weeks of principled specific chiropractic care, she no longer has migraines, has had only 1 nosebleed, and best of all, she has a new attitude about school. Michael came to Discover Chiropractic in March 2007 with low back pain, acid reflux, high blood pressure, and trouble sleeping. He had been treated by his family medical doctor with prescription drugs which didn't help him at all.
Since starting principled chiropractic care, he no longer takes his sleep medication or his blood pressure medication and his acid reflux is now under control. And of course his lower back is better as well. Michael followed Drs. Hess' recommended corrective care plan and never missed an appointment. Healed Bladder through Principled Chiropractic - Sylvia D.
Sylvia came to Discover Chiropractic in early 2007. Sylvia suffered with 3 years of bladder disorder which was diagnosed as cervical myelitis. She had to empty her bladder 3 times a day with a catheter. Her urologist and neurologist said she needed an implant in her bladder to correct the problem.
After approximately 3-4 months of proper chiropractic care and getting specific, scientific, chiropractic adjustments, Sylvia has not had to use her catheter anymore and her body is functioning normally.

Fibromyalgia & Post Polio Syndrome
In 1993, pain began creeping up Louella Harris' arms, into her neck and burned into her chest, shoulders and back. Her doctors attributed this to a combination of a demanding lifestyle, Post Polio Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. Their prescription was for her to exercise and take pain medication. The pain became so intense that she was confined to bed for several months. Any movement at all was sheer agony. Her husband, Richard, had to dress and feed her since she was unable to do anything for herself. In desperation, they tried everything they knew about to no avail. After several months, a friend told her about Upper Cervical Care. Full of trepidation, Louella agreed to visit the clinic. Within 20 seconds after her first correction, the pain began leaving her body. Aaron came to Discover Chiropractic in 2000 at 14 months old. Aaron suffered with ear infections, asthma and allergies. It had gotten bad enough that the pediatrician wanted to put tubes in his ears and had started breathing treatments. At one point Aaron was on amoxicillin, albuterol and pulmocort.

2 Allergy Shots A Day & Migraines!

Mark H. - Mark came to Discover Chiropractic in 2004 for pain in his right shoulder and mid-back. He also suffered with asthma and allergies. The pain in his shoulder was almost constant and so bad that it caused neck pain and headaches. His medical doctor had prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxers.
Since beginning specific chiropractic care and getting atlas adjustments he has greatly improved. For the past two years, Mark has been able to stop taking any pain killers and muscle relaxers for his pain and has also been able to stop using his inhaler for his asthma/allergies problem. "Freedom from Fibromyalgia"
Vicki suffered with --ocular migraines which would cause double vision, momentary blindness, slurred/slow speech, and confusion.-- To add to this condition, she also has fibromyalgia- a debilitating condition where parts of her body felt bruised and cramping to the touch. All of this caused her to be depressed and also affected her walking. --She had to quit her job as a mortgage loan officer and was considered disabled.--
Vicki was treated by a neurologist who diagnosed her condition and then recommended standard medical treatment of prescription medications to combat her symptoms. The medications, however, helped in some areas but made other problems worse and also caused secondary side effects not related to her condition. Since beginning chiropractic care and getting specific scientific chiropractic adjustments, Vicki has reduced her muscle relaxers and totally eliminated Topomax and other Narcotic pain medications.

Donna came to Discover Chiropractic in early 2006 for severe vertigo, which caused her dizziness and vomiting. The vertigo was so bad that it would last three to four days at a time. She was given medications that would provide only temporary relief. She was referred to our office by another patient, however Donna was very skeptical about chiropractic, but since she was desperate for help, she decided to give it a try. Kelli came to Discover Chiropractic in 2000. Kelli suffered with pain in her neck, back, and had continual headaches. Kelli also has had a history of kidney related problems, which she had been taking antibiotics for. Her Urologist has wanted to do surgery her for her kidney disorders. Bladder & Prostate Issues
Kent found out about Discover Chiropractic in 2002. He has had adjustments off and on since then. More recently, he returned to our office in 2006 due to extreme pain in his neck, back, and bladder problems. His doctors wanted to remove his bladder. His white blood cell count was very high and he was experiencing bladder and prostate pain. He had visited a neurologist, orthopedist and many other doctors too numerous to mention with little to no relief. He had been on morphine for three years and other pain pills.

Acid Reflux & Blood Pressure
Michael came to Discover Chiropractic in March 2007 with low back pain, acid reflux, high blood pressure, and trouble sleeping. He had been treated by his family medical doctor with prescription drugs which didn't help him at all. Since starting principled chiropractic care, he no longer takes his sleep medication or his blood pressure medication and his acid reflux is now under control. And of course his lower back is better as well. Michael followed Drs. Hess' recommended corrective care plan and never missed an appointment. Migraines
Kim came to Discover Chiropractic in November 2003 following a motor vehicle accident. After being rear-ended, her Ford Expedition was totaled. She arrived at Discover Chiropractic suffering from low back pain, numbness in her arms and legs, and migraine headaches. Although she had a history of migraines prior to her accident, this injury caused her condition to worsen and intensify. Kim had already been under treatment by a neurologist who only offered her prescription medication for her complaints, and even though she continued to take these drugs, "they never helped." Although Kim wasn't sure that chiropractic would help her, her problems were just not getting better and she was willing to try anything. Since coming to Discover Chiropractic, she has been able to reduce and/or eliminate Imitrex (migraine pills and shots) as well as a nose spray.
Since beginning specific chiropractic care, Kim has recovered from this accident and continues to maintain her progress with monthly check-ups. Dizziness & Nausea
Toyce found out about our Discover Chiropractic in October 2005. At the time she was being treated by a neurologist and ENT doctors -who could not diagnose her condition.- She was suffering from extreme dizziness, headaches, nausea and light sensitivity for about two and a half years. She was also taking the medications: Paxil and Clonasaplam.

"Debilitating Back Pain"
When Tammy first came to Discover Chiropractic she was suffering from severe back pain. Most days it was very painful for Tammy to walk or move around, and some days her pain was so debilitating that she couldn't walk at all. Tammy was prescribed the pain medication oxycodone by her medical doctor.
After a month of coming in for her specific scientific chiropractic adjustments, Tammy was able to completely stop taking this dangerous pain medication! Tammy said once she came in to the office she had no doubt that principled chiropractic care would help her. She now brings her children in for regular principled chiropractic care. Avoided Back Surgery
Danny started chiropractic care in October 2005, after he saw an ad on TV featuring Discover Chiropractic and Dr. Hess. He had never been to another chiropractor, but due to his pain, he was willing to give us a try. --Danny came to the office after being told by a local orthopedic that he was going to have to have surgery for his back problem.-- He showed up here on two crutches, bent over and could hardly walk or stand up straight. He was taking pain pills from the medical doctor. His pain was a 9 on a scale of 1-10. He had severe lower back, leg, and knee pain. It was ruining his life.

Jeremiah came to see us due to a referral by his mother and grandmother. Jeremiah started receiving adjustments at about one year old and had bronchitis and mild asthma. He was on breathing treatments five to six times a day. He was taking Pulmicort and Albuterol for temporary relief of the problem.
Since receiving specific scientific chiropractic adjustments, Jeremiah's body is feeling and functioning much better and he no longer takes Albuterol or Pulmicort and no longer needs breathing treaments. Growing Old Gracefully
Grady came to Discover Chiropractic and started care in December 2004. He had been suffering from headaches, upper back, shoulder and arm pain. The pain was severe in intensity and his headaches lasted all day.
Since beginning upper cervical (ATLAS) adjustments, his relief was immediate. His arms loosened up and the pain stopped almost immediately. The headaches have greatly reduced and his shoulder pain is almost completely gone. He has kept regular adjustments ever since and continues to have good results. Grady will not hesitate to recommend chiropractic treatment to his family and friends. He especially enjoys the friendly attitude of the office staff, which makes him feel very welcomed. NO More Worrisome Procedures at the OB GYN
Regina:When Regina first came to Discover Chiropractic, she had no idea that chiropractic care could help so much of the body. She was amazed when she heard Dr. Hess talk about the "above, down, inside-out healing" that God created us with! Regina had been dealing with menstrual cycle issues for years and was already in the middle of the medical procedures merry-go round when she first came to us.
